MEA-I DELIVERS TRAININGS IN ASIA

MEA-I delivered two Train the trainer sessions in Asia: in Beijing (July) and in Bangkok (October)

In Bangkok, 15 trainers from seven countries (Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, India, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia) attended the course, reprensenting various training organisations.

The training was part of the HP Asia-Pacific program on Micro-business development.

Six grant recipients from the Enterprise Development Program

of HP Asia-Pacific were selected to attend a MAP training in Beijing.

For this, the MAP curriculum had been translated into Mandarin and was delivered by our Master Trainers with the support of qualified translators. It was an intensive six days of training that generated highly positive appreciations from participants.

MEA-I develops a new curriculum for the young underserved

In October, MEA-I has released a new curriculum for the GET-IT program: the T-Tools curriculum.

The curriculum uses new Virtual Entrepreneurs specifically tuned to young people as teaching  material to foster entrepreneurship and their creative business skills. T-Tools was used in the Guidance Course held in Geneva, in October.

“GET-IT” TRAININGS

newsletter_02_f.jpg MEA-I completed the 2007 GET-IT round with trainings in Africa and Europe

GET-IT is the HP program for Europe, Middle-East and Africa that helps young people to start their own business.

After completing the trainings in Zurich and in St Petersburg for the HP GET-IT program, MEA-I managed the delivery of a Guidance Courses in Jo’burg and in Geneva.

In Jo’burg with representants form : Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa.

In Geneva with representants from : Sweden, Finland, Russia, Belgium and Romania. The participants were from the organisation JA-YE (www.ja-ye.org) and were trained on the new T-Tools curriculum.

DELIVERING MAP TRAININGS


MEA-I increases the number of MAP trainers and Master Trainers with its November sessions, in Geneva

A Training-of-Training (TOT) session and a Master Training (MT) session were held in MEA-I training center facilities, in Geneva.

New MAP trainers were certified during the TOT. MEA-I is expecting to increase its Master Trainers capacity with the MT session. MAP trainers took the course, and are in the process of being selected.

In collaboration with the Association Internationale des Regions Francophones, MEA-I has delivered a training in Bamako for the newly created Region Administrators of MALI and BURKINA FASO.

The training took place on the week of November 12. It was the first time, MAP concept was used for the public sector opening up innovative "intra-preneurs" curriculum for public administrators.

COVENTRY – MEA-I signed a MAP collaboration agreement with Coventry University (UK) during the EBN annual congress.

BELGRADE – A MAP collaboration agreement with the Faculty of Economics of Belgrade (Serbia) was also signed.

BAMAKO - MEA-I and AIRF (Association Internationale des Regions Francophones) have extended their collaboration and have jointly piloted a MAP training specifically adapted for administrators of the public sector. The MAP concept which was originally developed for Entrepreneurs and Small business Owners is now used to turn Public sector administrators into IT skilled intrapreneurs. SIERRE -  Official opening of the MAP center in Sierre (Switzerland)

The Micro Enterprise Acceleration Institute in collaboration with HES-SO Valais (Haute Ecole Spécialisée de Suisse Occidentale du Valais) and TechnoArk have inaugurated the first MAP center in Switzerland on the 26th of October.

HES-SO Valais is a  University  focussing on  pratical curriculum to provide students direct knowledge of scientific method-base  professional work. TechnoArk is the leading technological pole of the western part of Switzerland.

INTERNATIONAL EVENTS AND CONFERENCES


newsletter_02_i.jpg MEA-I participated at the EURADA conference in Sofia (Bulgaria), in October  with 150 Regional Development Agencies 

EURADA , the Association of Regional Development Agencies is a non profit-making organization aiming to promote regional economic development through dialogue with the European Commission services, interchange of good practice among members, transnational co-operation among members, regional development agencies as a concept.

EURADA gathers around 150 development agencies from 25 countries of both the European Union and Central and Eastern Europe.

newsletter_02_j.jpg Jelena Godjevac  (MEA-I)  participated in the the workshop run by HP in the Women's International Networking (WIN) conference

The workshop provided the participants with insights into current HP education programs like MAP (Microenterprise Acceleration Program) and HP GET-IT (Graduate Entrepreneurship Training through IT). During a hands-on training session the participants experienced the benefits of selected training modules which will helped them understand how to better use Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for an increased business success.
