HP LIFE

HP Learning Initiative For Entrepreneurs (LIFE) is a global program that trains aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners to use IT and business skills to create opportunities to transform their lives, and the lives of others in their community.

LIFE Community (english)

The LIFE Community website contains content related to all the aspects of Entrepreneurship Education, professional tips, best practices, success stories, educational games and much more! So don't wait: join trainers and entrepreneurs on www.becomelife.org and leave your entrepreneurial footprint on Earth!

LIFE City

The LIFE City) is an online component of the HP LIFE program: it is an interactive portal that provides various educational tools focused on the business applications of widely available IT tools. The LIFE City is translated into Chinese, Czech, French, Polish, Russian and Turkish. For English users, the LIFE Community replaced the LIFE City in March 2011.

MAP

MAP is the Micro-enterprise Acceleration Program. MAP enables HP partners and non-profit organizations to become certified training centers that train micro and small entrepreneurs. The cornerstone of MAP is a curriculum for micro and small entrepreneurs, their employees and would-be employees, on how to grow businesses using IT technology.

Center of Excellence for LIFE Program

Center of Excellence for Europe, Middle East & Africa: MEA-I is playing a key role in the deployment of the HP LIFE Program in the EMEA region. To maximize the local impact, MEA-I works with regional deployment partners UNIDO for Middle East & Africa and ORT.

Blossom and other Serious Games

Blossom Flowers is a serious game designed to teach aspiring and established micro-entrepreneurs how to use simple technologies to boost their business - through playing online. In the Blossom game, the player is an 'accidental' entrepreneur, left to take care of the Blossom Flowers farm while his/her cousin Chico - the owner of the Blossom Flowers business - is away. The player has to take care of the flowers on the farm while at the same time making sure the business side is running smoothly. The player has to demonstrate the right technological skills to overcome any business challenge that may arise.

Blossom is available in English, French, Russian and Chinese.

Curriculum

The LIFE Curriculum is a face to face curriculum that teaches aspiring and experienced entrepreneurs how to use widely available IT tools to start, run and grow their business. The LIFE Curriculum is aimed at people starting up, running, or working in micro-enterprises. Despite representing the largest source of new jobs worldwide, these small companies often struggle with efficiency and fail to grow beyond their very small size. The LIFE Curriculum aims to help them overcome some of these challenges.

Trainings

We organize "Training of Trainers" session throughout the world. The LIFE Training of Trainers (TOT) is a 3-day to 5-day seminar where future LIFE trainers learn the theory behind the LIFE Curriculum and its teaching methodology. They have the opportunity to practice delivering topics from the LIFE Curriculum. The LIFE TOT is a highly interactive, hands-on seminar, taught by certified Master Trainers. Participants receive their LIFE Trainer certificate on the last day of the LIFE TOT.

SMART Tool

Smart Tool is an online Training Management System that enables HP LIFE Centers to manage, monitor and report their training activities. Through this tool, the centers are able to register their students for the LIFE training. At the end of the training, the students receive a LIFE certificate from this tool, upon request of their HP LIFE trainer. HP LIFE Centers can generate reports on the trainings their trainers have delivered, and on the students who attended. This tool is specifically useful for multi-site organizations to provide an overview on the trainings delivered in different locations

Skills for LIFE

MEA-I organizes face to face trainings for large organizations and ministry of education. Lately, the Ministry of Education of Kuwait, in partnership with Hewlett-Packard (HP) and MEA-I from Geneva, successfully launched the HP LIFE Program within the e-Learning initiative in Kuwait (March 2011). From March 20th to 31st, more than 220 teachers from the Kuwait Ministry Of Education were trained on the "Skills For LIFE" curriculum.
